Blizzard announces Blizzcon 2009

The Blizzard Entertainment gaming celebration will return to the Anaheim Convention center this year on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22. Blizzcon centers around the Starcraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft gaming communities. Blizzard is anticipating a much greater response to this year’s Blizzcon, and is expanding the number of convention halls from three to four. Some of the planned events this year will include

• Hands-on play time with upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games
• Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers
• Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
• Community contests with great prizes
• Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes
• A silent auction
